Purdue University Northwest Wins US News and World Report Best College Rankings
Purdue University Northwest (PNW) received notable honors among top regional universities in 2022 US News and World Reports annual ranking of the best colleges, published Monday, September 13.
The PNW School of Engineering ranks 53rd nationally among engineering schools with the highest degrees of bachelor’s and master’s degree. PNW moved up from 60th place in the 2021 ranking.
PNW College of Nursing is included in the very first ranking by American News and World Report undergraduate nursing programs.
PNW’s Computer Science program at the College of Engineering and Sciences was also included in the ranking by American News and World Report undergraduate computer science programs. This is only the second time US News evaluated computer science programs.
PNW also rose in the Social Mobility Rankings, a category measuring the quality of university degrees for Pell scholarship recipients.

Best Engineering Programs
US News classifies undergraduate engineering programs accredited by the Engineering and Technology Accreditation Board (ABET), a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits university and college engineering programs. Rankings are based on deans and faculty members surveyed at accredited institutions. Surveys were conducted in the spring and summer of this year. PNW received a peer rating of 2.9 on a 5-point scale. The score was the same as the 2021 ranking, and PNW shares its ranking with eight other institutions.

Best Nursing Programs
US News released its very first list of the best undergraduate nursing programs in light of its meteoric growth as a profession and the critical role graduates have played in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Classified programs are accredited either by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. Rankings are based on deans and faculty members surveyed at accredited institutions. Surveys were conducted in the spring and summer of this year. PNW received a peer rating of 3.3 on a 5 point scale. PNW shares its ranking with 33 other institutions.

Best regional universities, social mobility and business schools
PNW once again ranked among the top regional universities in the Midwest, receiving a peer review of 2.8 on a 5-point scale. PNW was also among the top regional public universities in the Midwest.
PNW was recognized for its social mobility in Pell Scholarship recipients, ranking 75 among regional universities in the Midwest, up from 77 the previous year.
PNW’s College of Business has once again been included in Top Business Undergraduate Programs.
